Housing units are the basis for the estimates and each unit is considered "occupied" once the final use & occupancy permit has been issued by the City. Within each parcel polygon, population and household estimates are calcuated for each housing unit type, based on a multiplier. Jobs are calculated for each use type, based on a square foot multiplier. The sum of all jobs, housing units, population, and households for a given parcel polygon is then calculated and included in the attributes. City of Gaithersburg
