Description: This dataset was created to help track and monitor all urban stormwater best managment practices (BMPs) implemented within the City of Gaithersburg corporate limits. As a Phase II Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) operator, the City is required to account for existing BMPs and the areas they treat. This layer will help to track how the City is progressing toward meeting Chesapeake Bay restoration goals, the State of Maryland's Watershed Implementation Plan (WIP) nutrient and sediment reduction requirements, and adding stormwater treatment and controls for twenty percent of the jurisdictions surface that is not currently treated to the maximum extent praticable (MEP).
