Description: This feature class utilizes the GIS data model developed by the National Recreation & Parks Association (NRPA). This data model was developed for jurisdictions to be able to inventory lands and assets that they own, plan, manage, operate and maintain. By providing standard attributes and values, the data model facilitates better local, regional, and statewide management and planning of park and recreation resources. Features were created in January 2013 by Kelly Fearon. The data was reviewed by Rob Robinson (Planning), Jim McGuire (Parks, Recreation and Culture), and Mark Scafide (Public Works) in the spring of 2014 and updated accordingly. Additional attribute fields were added in the fall of 2016 to indicate whether pets or alcohol are permitted and to update the Reservations field. Jim McGuire provided these data.Charles Reed identified additional playgrounds, water fountains, and decorative water features on August 20, 2019 as part of his review of features to be included as tracked assets in the upcoming Infrastructure Asset Management System.
