Description: The City of Gaithersburg boundary and associated mask are maintained by the City. Previous year City boundaries are included for historic reference. The City boundary is based on annexations and the City Charter revisions of 1947, 1951, and 1958. Please note that only portions of the boundary have been reviewed and confirmed using surveys and, as a result, the boundary in the feature class may not accurately represent the corporate limits.The Rockville City boundary is sourced from the City of Rockville and updated each time a revised boundary is received from the Rockville GIS Department.The boundaries of the other municipalites and Montgomery County are sourced from the Montgomery County GIS Department and are updated each time a notice is received from the County. The boundaries in the City of Gaithersburg feature class are also checked once per year against the County SDE feature class to confirm whether changes have occurred.
